For Parents
We want to partner with you. We value your students so much and want to build deep relationships with them where they are at. We recognize that our time with students is just a few hours in a busy week, and we strive to make that time meaningful and intentional. We hope to come alongside you to be a support and a blessing. Unfortunately, youth groups often get sidelined and only connect with the larger congregation at one point... the youth pastor. At Emmaus we believe that teens are not just the Church of tomorrow, but they're also an integral part of the Church today. One expression of that is how we encourage Ember students to join their parents at the Emmaus' Sunday gatherings. All teens are welcome to come to Ember, however the time is specifically geared toward High School students. Ember normally consists of mainly questions and discussion. We believe it's crucial to interact, engage, participate in, and think through topics together. Everyone gets a chance to talk. We try to incorporate a variety of learning styles as leaders guiding the time. We are careful in preparing to teach, and we look at the Bible with great respect.
If you would like to speak with a leader or if you have questions regarding Ember's approach to ministry, then please contact Sandie Haskins. You can also get a hold of us if you're looking for a good way to introduce your son/daughter to some of the group and their leaders. We'll try to keep current events posted on this website, but we like hanging out anytime!
