Emmaus is dependent on the hard work and dedication of people just like you who’ve found great joy and purpose volunteering for one of the service or ministry teams listed:
SERVE: Getting Involved at Emmaus!
-Communion Team members serve two to three times a month. Three people assist Nate in serving Communion every Sunday Service. The Lead person is responsible for preparing & setting up the Communion Tables. For more information please call Pat Coons 434-6703.
-Ember Student Ministries We have a great group of students that are pursuing their faith at Emmaus. We also have a great group of adult leaders who have committed to walking with them on their journey. If you're interested in joining our youth leadership team, contact Sandie Haskins at (916) 295-9942.
-Emmaus Kids Team members serve once or twice a month caring for our community's kids and shepherding them to be worshippers of God. Please consider serving as a teacher or a helper in any of our four Emmaus Kids spaces: Nursery (0-3yrs,) Preschool-Kindergarten (3-5yrs,) Kindergarten-1st Grade (4-6yrs,) and 2nd-5th Grade (7-11yrs.) -Food
Prepare coffee and donated food one Sunday about once every two months. Be there at 8:30 am to set up and stay after the gathering to clean up. Contact Linda Oates: roates@calwisp.com or (530) 823-2435.
-Greeters Come help greet on Sunday mornings and meet lots of people! The team members serve 2 weeks every other month. For more information contact Isabelle Keeling: 916-645-7334.
-Info Table Set up and serve at two tables. One is the Information table with message cds, handouts and other material , and one book table, in foyer, with suggested books for purchase recommended by staff. -Prayer Minister to our community by praying for people's needs under the Prayer Tent on Sunday mornings during worship. If you are interested in serving on this team once a month, please contact Gentry Beidler: gentry.beidler@gmail.com or (916) 303-0896.
-Prayer Line Prayer is a vital part of life in our community. As needs are brought to our attention, (mostly via email) we immediately lift the request up in prayer. Commitment & Confidentiality are a priority! For more information please call Pat Coons 434-6703.
-Set Design
- Transform a school gym into a place of worship! Serve on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am with setting up stage decor, communion tables/candles and side curtains. Team members serve once a month. For more information contact Sandie Haskins: sandie@emmauscommunity.org 916-295-9942).
-Set-up/Tear-down Two person team that brings Ministry equipment to Emmaus. We set up the gym for worship and then put it all back in the trailer. Teams serve for two weeks in a row and then are "off" for eight weeks. Please contact Ron Oates (916) 652-1155 or 425-3606.
-Ushers Our team of Ushers greet people as they enter the worship gathering on Sunday mornings and ensure they find a seat. During the gathering the Ushers pass out Bibles and notes pages and take the offering.
